They are designed so that flexible materials can be used in extreme heat conditions. This is unlike other membranes which may melt or crack if they are too brittle.

Built-up roofs, or BUR as it is commonly known, are a good choice for buildings with flat roofing. They have been around since the 1800s. You can use multiple layers, which may include tar, asphalt materials or fabrics like polyester fabric/fabric/like combination. Gravel is added to make it waterproof. However it requires high maintenance due to its reflective nature.

Metal roofing is frequently used on pitched industrial roofs. Metal roofing is available in many materials including aluminum, copper (tin), stainless steel, and stone-coated. Metal panels can be made in many colors and patterns today. These metal panel systems are durable with strong rust resistance properties.
