TUCSON, Ariz. — Anticimex announced it has expanded into the Arizona market with the acquisition of Northwest Exterminating, Tucson, Ariz.

Northwest has been serving customers in and around Tucson since 1990. In 1999, the business was acquired by Chad Berg. He started at Northwest in 1992 as a service professional before working his way up to Director of Operations. He later diversified into landscaping and construction businesses. Berg will exit the pest control business to focus on construction and landscaping following the transaction.

Remarking on the transaction, Berg said, “Northwest Exterminating was founded on hard work, perseverance and the goal to provide the best possible customer experience each and every time. After meeting with the Anticimex team, I knew they were the right partners to take our company to the next level and  I am very excited to see the growth opportunities that our team will have while continuing to focus on providing the best experience for our customers.”

In 2004, Dena Berg left her teaching career to join her brother Chad at Northwest. She rose through the ranks of the business serving in various operational and management capacities ultimately becoming director of operations in 2019.  She will continue to lead Northwest following the acquisition by Anticimex. Dena Berg commented, “We are looking forward to being part of the Anticimex family as they are respected in our industry for holding true to their core values of trust, innovation and passion. I look forward to supporting the Northwest team members, building upon what we have already accomplished and leading a strong and growing presence in Arizona.”

The acquisition of Northwest signals a continuation of a westward expansion for Anticimex following the acquisition of Windsor, CO-based EnviroPest in October of this year. Mikael Vinje, Regional President Anticimex North America, said, “The organization that Chad and Dena have built and fostered over the past twenty years is very impressive and will make a perfect addition to the Anticimex family. We are humbled and look very much forward to partnering with the Northwest team to build on their success in Tucson and position the team for continued growth and success  in and around Arizona.”

LR Tullius represented and acted as exclusive financial advisor to Northwest Exterminating on the transaction.
